The barns at Blake Hall were built for gathering. Round tables, good food, familiar faces. That is what the Hay Barn and the Essex Barn do best, and it does not take a wedding to make the most of them.
Set within sixty acres of Essex countryside, the venue works just as well for a landmark birthday as it does for a first dance.
Blake Hall is well suited to celebrations that call for a proper venue rather than a hired room above a pub. The events that tend to work best here are the ones where the guest list is substantial, the occasion is genuinely significant, and the people involved deserve something to remember.

The party
Guests can arrive to drinks on the terrace or in the Hay Barn, before moving into the Essex Barn for a seated meal, speeches and whatever the celebration calls for.
The venue holds up to 150 for dining and 200 for a lunch time or evening celebration, so there is room for the whole family and a few people your guest of honour has not seen in years.
The same caterers, Waters Edge Catering, and suppliers who work with the wedding team are available for milestone events, and the team can help you put together exactly the right shape of day.
