Across the lawn from the Essex Barn, the Hay Barn is a beautiful place to say your vows. Licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests, its beam-lined aisle and magnificent picture window make for a stunning indoor setting whatever the weather.
If you prefer to keep drinks outside on the terrace, the Hay Barn steps back gracefully. Or it can do double duty as your welcome drinks space before dinner in the Essex Barn.
Under an open sky
Between the Essex and Hay Barns stands the Saddlery, a licensed outdoor ceremony space with cedar benches, a limestone aisle path and a rustic canopy as your backdrop. It is an idyllic spot to exchange vows under the sky, with your guests gathered around you on the lawn.
Use your imagination for this truly adaptable space. It works beautifully as a drinks station, a stage for live music during the reception, or a space for a children’s entertainer if little ones are on the guest list.

The Essex Barn is the grand centrepiece of your wedding day. This magnificent 17th-century barn has been sympathetically restored to give you all the warmth and character of a historic space, with every modern comfort you could want.
With a licensed bar, dance floor and banqueting area all under one roof, everything stays together from the first course to the last dance.
In the Potting Shed
Situated next to the barns, the newly converted Potting Shed is a lovely new addition to our venue.
Whilst one partner is getting ready in the Old Coach House, the Potting Shed is available for the other as a great place to finish off getting ready for your big day. No need to risk creasing your outfit on the journey here.
Just arrive a few hours early and get changed with a few other members of your wedding party in the Potting Shed.
With its long mirrors, sink, shaving socket and lots of hanging space, the Potting Shed is a wonderful place to finish off getting ready for your wedding and to relax before the formalities begin. It is also a great space for some all-important getting-ready photos and, of course, can also be used during the day itself if required.
As the Potting Shed is part of the venue, there is no additional charge for using this room.
