From seasonal menus inspired by Essex produce to bespoke dishes crafted with care, every wedding feast at Blake Hall is designed to be memorable and personal.
One of the most memorable parts of your wedding will be the time you spend around the table. At Blake Hall, we understand that food does more than satisfy, it brings people together, sparks conversation and adds flavour to the celebration. Every dish is designed with care, to complement the beauty of the setting and the joy of your day.
In partnership with
We have worked with them for over 20 years and that relationship shows. They are an Essex-based team who are part of the family. They know the spaces, the flow of a wedding day, and what it takes to feed a room well and leave guests talking about it. Their menus are built around seasonal produce, beautifully presented, and consistently delivered with the kind of warmth that fits the venue.
Waters Edge are well practised at catering for a wide range of dietary requirements. Whether your guests include vegans, vegetarians, those eating gluten free, or anyone with other dietary needs, they will work with you to make sure every place setting is thought about. Just let us know at the planning stage and they will take it from there.
Choose from seasonal starters, elegant mains and bespoke desserts, all inspired by the best local produce and thoughtfully designed to reflect your preferences. From a classic multi-course wedding breakfast to a menu that nods to your heritage or favourite flavours, Waters Edge will build something that feels like yours.
The Feast page covers the way most couples celebrate at Blake Hall. A full day with Waters Edge by their side, from the drinks reception through to the wedding breakfast and beyond. But there are other ways to do it.
For couples who need to bring their own caterers for cultural or religious reasons, a kosher menu, for example, our dry hire option makes that possible. It is a practical arrangement designed for specific dietary traditions that fall outside what a conventional caterer can provide. If that applies to you, the dry hire page has everything you need to know.
Twilight Weddings are a different kind of celebration altogether: an evening ceremony from 4pm followed by a reception in the barns and garden, with catering kept lighter and more relaxed. If you love the idea of Blake Hall but want something smaller in scale and budget, it is worth a look.
Your drinks experience should be thoughtfully curated, just like your menu. From refreshing aperitifs during your drinks reception to carefully selected wines and signature cocktails with dinner, we work with you to create a drinks package that complements every moment of your celebration.
Whether you prefer English sparkling, local wines, bespoke cocktails or classic toast-worthy champagne, each choice becomes part of your day’s narrative.
Waters Edge set up their tuk-tuk outside during your post-ceremony reception acting as a dedicated drinks station for the time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, if you would like to offer your guests a drink after the meal and before the dancing begins.
“A huge thank you for all the gorgeous food you made for us on our wedding day. It was perfect, and all the guests kept saying how it was the nicest food they had ever had at a wedding.”

The Feast describes how food and drink works as part of a full Blake Hall wedding package, but we know that not every couple wants to do things the same way. If you have your own caterers in mind, or you are planning a more intimate evening celebration, we have options to suit.
Take the venue as your blank canvas. Bring your own caterers, suppliers and vision, and make Blake Hall entirely your own.
For couples who want an evening celebration without a full-day package, a Twilight Wedding lets you enjoy the barns and gardens from late afternoon into the night.
